My fellow Iowan bagged this last fall. 350 Legend 200 yards on the run....A friend with hunting ground in Southern Iowa said the blue tongue killed off at least 40-50 percent of the herd down there. First year he didn't bag a nice one.

Yes it is. We get many non-typical mulies around here, some old boys with what I'd term "staggering" racks. After season, either archery or rifle season, it's not uncommon to see very nice bucks right in town, wandering the neighborhoods, eating flowers and whatever they dang please. They are experts in survival, avoiding all hunters of either passion.

Plus they seem to get a copy of the hunting regs ahead of all of us, and go into "hide mode" early.

Went cruising about dinner time. Popped a couple 13 lined ground Squirrels. Grass is getting just a bit to high. Usually a .17hmr or .22 rimfire game but the wind was blasting today so 32 varmageddon from a .204 was up to bat.
