ITAR Gone?

Ok, not gone, but did I miss something? I just got my 07 FFL and was going to register with the DDTC and started finding all these articles about the removal of ITAR from gunsmithing activities.

Trying to figure out if I need to go through the process now. Ether way on the brighter side, I see the DDTC temporarily dropped the first time fee to $500.

Is everyone still doing this?

No longer needed for most.
Never paid attention to it anyway, it was a load of crap for most smiths to have to pay that. There was no enforcement mechanism - BATFE agent told me "off the record" they all thought it was bull****, just a revenue source for the gubmint, and they didn't concern themselves with it.
 
Thanks, I think I have the information I need to know wither of not I need it for what I will be doing. Not a bunch of great info or clarification out there on this subject though.
