It was bound to happen

I started my company on a couple of bag riders. Then Forum made me a sponsor. Then I never went back to work after covid and expanded into a full line of products.

So, now here is a guy that copied the original bag rider exactly and is selling it on Amazon. Nice. I suppose it was just a matter of time.

Sadly it's not an offense unless the article design is copyrighted. Stiller copied the panda, and later a slightly different copy of the pumpkin neck turner. It's just a fact of life. Some do it, some will not.

Getting a patent is not a straight forward thing for an individual. Most likely this way on purpose. So only rich companies can afford to pay patent attorneys. It is a long and drawn out process. Can cost thousands. Not saying a bag rider would. But I had a patent attorney as a roommate for a while.

Hey, since lots of people were reading this thread, I would like to say this.

I am a one man store. I don't get to the Post Office or UPS every day. Lots of times my local PO does not even bother to scan packages in for tracking. I get lots of snarky messages about shipping with the PO (free shipping). I am about to the point of saying "write your Congressman". It is truly impossible for a Mom and Pop shop to compete with AMAZON shipping (and for someone to think they can leaves me shaking my head). I also get the "I ordered it on Tuesday and I need it for a match on Saturday". And when it doesn't arrive in time it is somehow my fault.

I just had a PO package with a bag rider go all the way to the west coast, and turn around and come back to Oklahoma, probably to turn around and go back. If anyone thinks I like that, they are wrong.

But I am not Amazon. Which will eventually put everyone else out of business.

Brad, I have three of your Bag Riders, a great product at a fair price. I have referred several shooters to your website for one and they may have purchased other things as well. Best of luck with your growing business.

I just ordered one of your bag riders for my Ruger Precision. I did not see do you have one for the Savage Precision in 223?

You are a good guy that makes quality products.... enough said. Business will always be there.
I do think that we all (forum) should go give that cheese grader version a bad review and link brads bagrider so anyone surfing amazon for a bag rider will know where to get a quality made unit.

I figure God works everything out.

I'm going to say one thing about my business. I've never found the need to raise up my business by bad mouthing other businesses. Which is quite prevalent in the world. I figure there is enough business for all of us.

Even this Amazon person. I'm like "whatever" at this point. My wife and I have talked about Amazon for years. I figured the best way to lose my business would be to put my products on Amazon.

I do wish the guy had bothered to change it a little bit at least. Haha but we live in a world where Chinese "clones" of American products are allowed to put American companies out of business. So, I figure this is the way.

Heck, the Chinese are cloning the Chinese. And people can't wait to get the cheaper knock off. Even when they have the money to buy the real thing. I think there is a lesson there somewhere.

I figure it's just a matter of time before someone sends a benchrest stock or chassis to China and figures out a way to import the knockoffs into the country. And floods the market with half priced exact clones of American designs (and some American company will sell them).

If it weren't for the PROTECTION LAWS put in place to PROTECT FIREARMS MANUFACTURERS (are you learning?) all of your favorite firearms companies would have been gone 15 years ago. Hmmm. I guess trade protections, in the end, are a pretty good idea. Although, I would suspect some would comment that dog eat dog internationalist capitalism is what the Founders meant when they said "freedom". Which is a lie.

This is something I'm pretty passionate about. Having graduated mechanical engineering the year they signed NAFTA.

Been using your picatinny bag riders fore and aft for some time and love the things. I did buy a couple of the ones on Amazon before I realized they were not yours. Whatta Hobby!

I've never seen anybody put the Luth rear bag rider on the front. Ingenious!!

I was using a an old Hoppe front rest with a narrow bag. It worked fine. Most of them are not like that, I assure you. Sometimes with a flat bottom chassis I don't use any rider on the front, as long as it's not going to chew up a bag. Shooting something over 10K of .223 and .308 annually I like to preserve my gear. Whatta Hobby!
