ISE Games

Greetings,

I want to start off by saying how impressed I am by the quality of this site and the high quality info I read here. The biggest thing I've changed in my routine is to use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the inside and outside of my brass. The 50% vinegar solution really cleaned well. My brass did have some discoloration which was minimized by polishing. I will load some of these soon to see how well thay shoot.
I'm not sure where to post this part, but I was intrigued by the ISE games, particularly the varmint hunting. The 1/2 hour free trial offers a taste but should have been a little longer to offer a better preview. But I ordered it anyway. Well, it doesn't work well. ,I have a 4 month old computer, I assume its up to the task) I can't do anything except the quick hunt. The advance screen arrow, shown as paws) doesn't light up for the range or any of the hunt trips. None of the upgrades to equipment like new rifles or reloads I make are usable to me. The instructions leave much to be desired. The help screen is rudimentary. Also, when you make the online purchase there's an out of the way option to archive your program on the provider's server for an extra $4 that is outside your area of attention and is defaulted as buy. It appears to be set up as a sneaky way to extract extra money from the buyer. And lastly, I can't find any Email address to use to ask for help. You can call or write a letter, but no Email. On the plus side the graphics are pretty good and the subtilies of shooting with cross winds at 200 to 400 yards seems to be realistics. So all you video varmint hunters, beware!! Thanks for a great site, I'll be back often, Hank

Hank,

Thanks for your report. I personally tried the BR and the Varmint programs before I mentioned the ISE games on the BLOG. I was using a Windows machine, 2006 Vintage, with lots of RAM, running XP home.

I was able to build an equipment list in the Varmint program, and get into the more complicated hunt, but I'll agree with you, it didn't seem intuitive at all--I wanted to drag and drop the rangefinder etc. and it didn't seem to respond. But then, I'm not much of a computer gamer. In the varmint program I did like the fact that you had to look around a wide area before you'd see your first groundhogs, and they were on the move.

But I'll agree, that it is all-too-easy to burn through the 30-minute free trial.

If you're really disappointed with the product, and you paid by credit card, you can always dispute the charge on your card. Many card companies offer a "purchase warranty" program also if you are dissatisfied with the service.

Hank,
if you call them up, they will help you with your problem. I had a problem with the long range comp. game and Matt helped me thru it. My problem was to old of a computer, the graphics card was not up to date. He walked me thru some instructions that made the game work. There is a forum page on www.long-range.com especially for the ISE games that Matt monitored for a while and I guess he still does???? but you could at least P.M. him from there if nothing else.

Jimtanker sent me his ISE CD's before he went to Afghanistan. The game seems ok though I'm stuck trying to upgrade my scope to a 36x. I'll figure it out eventually I guess.

To the original poster, you might try wiping the game, wiping the registry entries,ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU"RE DOING!!!) and then reinstalling and see if that helps you out. If you downloaded it, make sure you save it off somewhere safe. I suppose it's even possible that the download itself was corrupt. I hope the seller still supports it if he's still taking money for it. -Rod-

I thought I would follow up with my issues re: the ISE varmint game. I tried calling twice, last Friday and again on Tuesday. No answer and no response to the message I left. I guess they no longer support the game. I plan to dispute the CC charge. Thanks to those that offered advise. Hank
