Is Varget too fast?

I'd just like your opinions please folks.

Do you think Varget is too fast for my set up which is a Truflight 28" 1:8 twist barrel and shooting 75gn A-max? I can't get it to group as I would like so I was thinking of trying a slower powder like N140 or N150 and see if that improves things?

Yes, it is too fast.

On QL it looks good 97 % fill and 99.3% burn. Z1 and Pm is just before the power peak almost together. 13'' of barrel to get 95 % bullet speed. Larry

Thanks Larry, I don't have quick load what does it say about N140 or N150? as Catshooter has confirmed my suspicions that Varget is too quick!

Varget look better then 140 or 150. If anything Varget is on the slow side. N150 looks just ok but not as good as Varget . Norma URP looks the best. Larry

Your problem may be the bullets, a forum friend of mine recently had an inconsistant batch of A-Max 75 gr bullets, and is now looking at Berger 80.5 full bores for their consistancy.
