Is this acceptable

I have a brand new never shot SS barrel and want to see if this is acceptable. Images are not very clear as I was trying to take screen shots while videoing. It seems to me that there is pitting. However, I am not experienced so I appreciate your comments.

I have not cleaned or shot any rounds through it.

I would. But I want to make sure that I don't have a bad barrel. It did cost me some change out of my piggy bank.

You might be surprised how well " borescope bad" barrels shoot.

Run a few patches and clean it however you normally do. Then look again. Might be better

If that was the inside of a water line i would replace it, Let alone a new barrel!

Some of it looks to be oil droplets. Clean it and scope it again.

Had the exact experience last week with a brand new Criterion. As recommended above, ran a couple of dry patches thru it and it came out beautifully pristine. What a relief. Good luck.

I would run a few dry patches thru as mentioned, just to see. But, that does look like pitting/ porosity to me. I see a lot of porosity in cast iron parts at my work. It is probably possible to get some bad stainless steel also i would think.
And yes f it does not come out with the patches, you should contact the place that sold it to you. Im sure they will replace it if thats what you want.

Dont make decisions based on pics of a wet bore. You must dry it before pics.
also adjust the mirror location with the screw threads to get a crisp image.
I believe the bore will look good when dry.

Every since I got the dreaded BORE SCOPE disease . I CLEAN every actually clean bore and the mirror with alcohol and dry patch it just before looking saves a lot of grief

Clean & shoot it and you might be surprised. If it gives you grief with grouping or fouling after due diligence, then contact the manufacturer.
