I did a search here on my issue, but did find what I was really looking for.
I use a Sinclair universal decapping die on 223 cases and 357 cases. It has worked really well for several years. My 223 brass comes from a police range and it is mostly RP brass and sometimes LC brass. The police department always purchases new rounds to avoid lawsuits and other issues on reloads. This is a whole other story I won't go into.
The last batch of 223 rounds, RP, I was decapping destroyed my decapping pin and bent the rod slightly. I held 10-15 rounds at a time and looked at the primer holes and I could easily see some of the flash holes are not centered.
I tried to leave the rod slightly loose to see if it would help line up in the flash hole but it didn't.
Is there a tool that can be used to slightly open the flash hole up that may allow the decapping to line up better? All these rounds are used in varmint hunting so I'm not looking at benchrest extreme accuracy.
