Is there a vibrating case tray out there to help settle higher powder loads in cases?

Sometimes I want to use a powder load in my rifle (6.5 x 47 Lapua) brass cases that fill the cases slightly too much and I can't seat the bullet deep enough in the case to get the bullet seating depth I want; the bullet seats 0.005 - 0.020" or so too long and I can't press the bullet in any farther. When I seat the bullet into the same empty case, I get the correct seating depth, but when I add the powder (using a 10" drop tube) the bullet seating depth is several thousandths longer. I know long drop tubes can help with this sometimes, but it's not helping in this instance even when filling very slowly. I am not close to (2 gr short of) the max load for this powder. A vibrating case tray that vibrates too much I think might kick some of the powder granules out of the case mouth, so an adjustable (rheostat) vibrating tray might be more suitable to avoid such powder losses.

Is there a case tray out there that vibrates to help settle the powder granules (very small cylinders) deeper in the case so I can seat the bullet some thousandths deeper? Maybe there is another approach you all know about. All comments welcome!

I don't know if if would work with stick powder but it helped with ball. A friend was struggling with getting powder into a 6.5 Grendel using ball powder and BT bullets. He uses Wilson arbor press dies. Clever fellow that he is, he figured out that pushing down on the powder with the bases of his bullets was not causing the powder to come fully up around the BT, so he started the bullet enough so that it would not fall out and turned his die with the round in it over, so that the powder would fall around the BT and finished seatig the bullet with the die inverted. I think that he used the die base for this part of the operation, to insure that the case would be flush.

I have reservations without proof that vibrating cases one by one to compact a stiff load of powder might cause irregularities of densities case to case with the possible outcome of variable ignition and consequent accuracy.

Get a long drop tube. That helps tremendously. If youre using a 6" go 12" using a 12" go longer.

Also a few seconds held on the lid of a vibratory tumber can help, however I think drop tubes are more effective

I just put a finger over the mouth of the filled case and whack it down on a piece of wood 4-5 times. It settles quite a bit that way. Using a long funnel is also another good way.

The OP said he’s using a 10” drop tube.

This thread is real interesting but I think there’s a reason there are so many different powders. The simple answer is if you can’t get the powder in the case with a 10” drop tube, you need a lighter load or you need to use a different powder.
