IPOD/IPHONE scope attachment

I personally do not have either of these devices but I do have a question about them. Would they work on a spotting scope. Be kindof nice to glance over and have a TV screen to look at. If it will or would work would it be allowed in competition. Heck you could even record the event to go back and review wind condition and shots and it would be easier to prove poor target service even though that sort of thing never happens. Seems there would be quite a few advantages to this.

F stops(aperture opening)will limit your depth of field rendering the idea useless.

Personally I wouldn't allow the distraction on the firing line.

Keep it simple-eye sight requires no batteries!

I have a meopta spotting scope with a I-Phone adapter. Its as clear as looking through the spotting scope. I use it some when shooting 1000. i focus it a little short of 1000 for mirage and record on my phone as i shoot the string. It has helped me a lot on where i made the call on wind with the mirage recorded to evaluate. I even us it when spotting for deer, easier on my eyes. I don't know about the scope deal. I sure wish i new more about it as i have a friend that has a son that is handicapped and may be the ticket for him to spend some time shooting off the bench. Chris at sport optics can give you some insight on the I-phone adapter setup, pretty cool, been around a while.

Just to have the option to play it back would be pretty cool for learning where one may have gone wrong or pulled a shot. Doesn't seem like it would be to distracting to others seeing as there would be no audio coming from it. I guess if you had a 20 inch flat screen monitor attached to it via Bluetooth or something then yeah it would catch the eye of other shooters.

To let the cat out of the bag-
Focusing your spotting scope 2-300yds downrange from the firing line will result in better wind & mirage reading abilities compared to focusing your spotting scope @8-900yds.

Simple math/geometry.

Try it-your scores/groups will improve.....drastically!

The Phone Skope has a separate adapter designed for each eyepiece

While the Snap Zoom has a universal adapter system and works quite well.

The 1,000 yard shots were shot with a Phone Skope on the spotter.
