iosso ?

After cleaning the bore using a bronze brush and BBS while the barrel is still warm from a match or range session, I run a cotton patch through the bore to form it, then apply (work-in) a liberal amount of Iosso to the formed patch, run the rod into the bore until I feel it hit the throat and rotate the patch in this area ~ 20 revolutions then slowly begin short-stroking (back and forth) in progressively longer strokes towards the muzzle. Patch out with a new cotton patch with BBS, then run 3 passes with a bronze brush saturated with BBS. Check with borescope. Run a clean dry patch or 2 through bore. Finish by using a patch soaked with an oil like Butches or MMO.
Because it is a very mild abrasive- it will not help with fire-cracking.

Short stroke throat and barrel with green VFG pellet covered in Iosso, nice big patch with Iosso on pushed down the bore a couple times then rinse/patch out with something like C4 to remove everything

Tight patch and short strokes. In my experience it won't remove fire cracking but it will keep it smooth enough that it won't strip jacket material off. When that happens accuracy goes away and no amount of cleaning will bring it back because of the embedded copper.

What is VFG?

Also, special way to wrap the patch so it doesn't come off or unwrap during short stroke?

Felt cleaning pellets.

A new barrel is the cure for fire cracking...I use ISSO bore paste and a tight fitting patch with most any bore cleaner or lube...doesn't seem critical..I've tried most of them, by themselves all were unimpressive. I only promote things that work for me, popularity doesn't count, if it doesn't work for me.
Short stroke the throat and down the bore a little, repeat several times, it never cured my fire cracking, but helps remove carbon and smooth the bore a bit. ...then go shootin...if the groups are continously too large for your shooting endeavor...get a new barrel. And I've had some rather heavy fire cracking and accuracy was still acceptable...for me...for awhile...so I got my money's worth. Then chambered a new barrel.
