Greetings All,
I have been using an ultrasonic cleaner with dilute vinegar to clean my brass. It works pretty good but I always get some staining, even when rinsed with baking soda.
I read that the Iosso product worked well, just needed a rinse and didn't stain. I notice that many pieces of brass in a cleaning batch get a pinkish hue, especially inside the neck area. The color fades substantially when the cases dry, naturally in air), but some cast remains, and again the insides of necks is most prominent.
My questions; is this normal, does anyone else see this. And is it a problem, does it compromise the brass in any way. I'm guessing the color is due the copper content of the brass and the pinker looking necks may be an optical thing due to curvature and less distracting light falling inside the case. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hank
