The current ones use schott ed glass i do believeNot sure if the original question was ever answered or not. The old IOR scopes used Hensoldt glass for their lenses. IOR provided all scopes for the old Russian military and were manufactured in Bucharest RO. They were and are excellent glass. They are also a bit high priced. Mr. Valdata came along when the wall came down and bought into the company I believe, and got the exclusive export/import rights for the product line. BUT IOR continued to make excellent scopes. I was stationed with the UN in 1995/96 in western Romania, and came across these scopes from time to time. I may be completely wrong about everything I just wrote, but at the time that's what I was told. I would not hesitate to own one of them, but I can't afford it yet.
