Jeff never made his own jackets. Hines made the jackets, Jeff just sold them under his Stay Moly brand.

Tim, I don't think Jeff is selling any jackets now but about ten years ago he was working on new alloys and new equipment to make better jackets. He was selling some under the StaMoly name until matches were won and records broken. Hines may have made them but I believe the StaMoly jackets were Jeff's ideas.

I suggested the OP talk to him because I would think Jeff went through the same trials and tribulations he's facing trying to start a jacket manufacturing business.

Making bullet jacket,s is a costly venture. Right now the makers are stringing us out.
prices are way up and delivery is way down. they are to busy loading ammo.
I studied it and it will cost quite a bit to start up.. then their is the supply of jacket materials.
The equipment is available but then there is the die maker situation
then their is the small market. Its a tough situation.

If you are really serious about this venture, the business model is simple.

Manufacture jackets that are at least as precision as what is available now. The strive to satisfy the customers needs for jackets in a timely manner.

What you charge will be predicated on your expectations in profit. The customers will let you know if you pricing schedules are in line.
