Internet service is back

I believe it was Oct 9 that we were hit with a tornado that grew from weather conditions generated by hurricane Milton. House and workshop survived without a scratch. Many of the oaks that filled my property were blown to the ground, on the perimeter fence, and on my workshop roof. Many friends from church helped in the first few days after the city crew made the road passable to our street. After we got the center portion of the property cleared, I asked the group from church and Bible study to let Cathy and I finish up and help others as we are retied and have plenty of time. Power was out for four days, internet service and land line phone came back on 2 hours ago. I have an older friend that is a retired diesel mechanic that lives close by and his 40 x 50 metal building is all over town. I had a Hustler mower in his shop we were rebuilding and he brough it to my little shop so they could start to work on his building next week. His place was hit hard but when he got here with the mower he was almost in tears. Both of our families would like to thank you for your prayers. It is obvious the way trees are down all around my house, and the house is undamaged that God was looking out for us. Life is almost back to normal now and I think that i took the last load of oak tree debris to the street yesterday. Lots of raking still to go. I froze at the back door and watch the outer wall pass not 30 feet from the house, Thank fully no news crews were here to hear me say "It sounded like a freight train!" I really didn't, it sounded like Pratt and Whitney running a jet engine on one of their test stands. Thanks again for your prayers!!! I am sure we are here alive and well because you asked for His mercy on us.

A little exercise? The guy that contracted with FEMA to remove debris told me I was cutting the limbs and trunks too short. I told him the wife and I will be 70 this year, the small pieces were all we can handle.

I have about 20 trees that have to come down, out here in Texas. I’m not looking forward to it. At least I have the option of waiting for cooler weather. I feel for you but I’m also very happy that your house was spared. Just trying to focus on the bright side.
A lot of people weren’t so lucky.
Take it slow and steady. Drink lots of lemonade!
Take care!
