Interesting find from my Patch Collector days…..

Do you know which Hercules facility the patch was from? Hercules Powder Co. changed its name to Hercules Inc. in 1966. Worked 32 years for Hercules(1969-2001).

Not all Hercules plants manufactured gun powder. I worked in a Hercules facility in LaPorte Tx in the 1974 timeframe and we manufactured Polypropylene.

I have no further formation on the patch’s origin. Nice to know that there are informed gentlemen in our midsts.
Well Done, Sirs!

They also made DDT, as well as 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and 2,4,5-T (2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid). They, and later Vertac, buried a lot of barrels of dioxin at the facility in the town I grew up in. I think the dioxin was a byproduct of making the DDT, etc. It became an EPA Superfund cleanup site.
