Interested in learning about gunsmithing

I am very interested in learning about gunsmithing. My eventual goal would be to purchase a lathe and some reamers for benchrest and varmint rifles.

Could you recommend any publications / books / videos where I can learn about smithing rifles for accuracy?

I understand that you don't just "jump in" to gusmithing, but I believe it will be a hobby that I can enjoy for years.

Any Information you have would be great.

Gunsmithing classes at a reputable school, or find a gunsmith willing to take on an apprentice.

I found a semi-local 5 day gunsmithing class. It sounds like my best option.

The NRA sponsers week long and some two week long classes at some of the gunsmithing schools in the spring and summer. A good place to start if you can't do a two year program at one of the accredited schools.
