Instant Pot / Off topic

Anyone using an Instant Pot for cooking?
I'm thinking about getting a 7 in 1 / 6 quart..
Edit: I thought it was "Insta" Pot.. My mistake.. Changed to "Instant"

We have the one that is a combo air fryer and insta pot. Use it a whole lot actually. It’s the ninja one...I use the pressure cooker a lot with certain wild game....squirrels/rabbits and the like. It’s like anything else in the kitchen there are many different ways to get the same outcome. I think the pressure cooker part is worth it alone....the old ones that go on the stove are cumbersome and can be dangerous.

My daughter bought an Insta Pot probably about 2 years now. We use it weekly. We've never had a bad meal out of it. My first experience with one was during a trip seeing friends in Kentucky. Had a meal that came out of the Ninja brand, scrumptious.

Instapots are good. They're like a rapid crock pot.

I like them because if I forget to set something out to thaw for dinner (I usually grill the meat for dinner in our household), I can just toss it (frozen) in the crock pot with rice, stock, and veggies and it always comes out edible 30-45 mins later.

My wife uses it several times a week. It makes great pork BBQ! Chili, chicken, killer venison Bourgogne, beans. Everything a crock pot and pressure cooker can do.

Liking one is directly related to how much you use it. I personally use mine to speed things up.
Speedy things I do include, but are not limited to:
Steamed squash in 5 minutes to make squash casserole with.
Eggs two minutes after the steam comes up and they peel perfectly - shells come right off.
Chicken breasts for home made chicken salad - cooked so done you shred it, not cut it - addictive
Venison roast - browned on the grill and cooked till falling apart.
Home made mashed potatoes

I have a friend who really worked on learning about it and can cook an entire meal with it in less than an hour.
You'll love it if you learn it.

I use this silly appliance several times a week.

Had the best chicken pot pie ever ! We have had our Ninja for about 2 weeks and are really liking it. Fixed Cornish Hens the first time we used it and liked that after we pressured them we could switch the lid and crisp the skin on them. Cooked 5 frozen ones in about 45 minutes, due to it having to heat up for the 15. Tip that we discovered was if you turn it on while you getting your stuff together you don't have near the warm up time.

Can't decide on the 6 qt or 8 qt.. One video I saw said don't fill more than 2/3...
What you guys think, six ( Creedmoor) or eight, I mean quart?

Did a fantastic pulled pork in it, took only about an hour of cooking instead of 12-16 hours on the smoker. Came out great and just as tender.

I like that I can take a chuck roast, chuck it in with some beef broth, set it to run for 30-40 minutes, add potatoes, onions, and carrots and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes, and have a pull-apart tender stew in under an hour (vs 2-3 hours stovetop.) I live alone, and got an 8 quart model. I generally run it at capacity so I don't have to cook as often.

Air fryers are nice as well - not exactly the same as deep frying, but a hell of a lot easier to maintain.

That’s cool, didn’t know you could start food from frozen state in it.

Have both insta pot (6qt) and air fryer... never a bad batch of food from either. If I had to do it again, I'd get the 8 qt. pot instead of the 6.

Air Fryer is great for chicken wings, throw them in frozen and crispy wings in less than 30 minutes.

never heard of this thing. I did a search and it came up with “Instant Pot”. Is that what you guys are talking about? What’s the Ninja reference?

The Pampered Chef Air fryer is the shiiizzz. I was annoyed when my wife bought it after giving our first one away.. but it blows whatever the POS we had first out of the water.

Anyways.. Instant pot. We use one a lot. By we I mean my wife. Home made yogurt weekly, quick meals, chili, chicken and rice, eggs, cheese cake, etc. Lots of uses.
