Installing new savage action on savage barrel.

Hello all, I was really hoping for some advice on my project from the pro's or the experienced. I have a savage target action and an original model 12 6mmbr barrel from savage that I am fixing up. I have purchased a viper barrel vise and wheeler barrel wrench, and go/no go gauges for 6mmbr. My questions are, do I need a action wrench if I have the vise? What kind of grease do I use on action and barrel threads? Is this procedure that I put together researching other threads and web pages adequate?

1. put grease on threads of barrel. What kind?
2. slip barrel nut through barrel
3. hand tighten barrel on action
4. slip barrel with action through vise with paper stock around barrel
5. tighten vise down till barrel is tight enough where it will not roll
6. Is this where I use action wrench to tighten action on barrel snug, but not too tight?? Is their an alternative here?
7. put go gauge in action and close bolt.
8. eject go gauge, insert no go gauge and check to see if bolt does not close to ensure it doesn't
9. use barrel wrench to tighten barrel nut, how tight? Torque setting? 80ft lbs?
10. check go and no go in action to ensure proper closing or no close.

Thanks ahead for any help or advice.

Its pretty simple, really, if you have a barrel vise and a nut wrench thats all you need. 80 lbs torque sounds right, I just get it tight and don't worry about torque. If you need more info let me know. Pat
