Anyone using this cal. and if so your input would be appreciated. I am between the 6 Dasher, or the 6mm Super LR Cartridge
Also which would have the better barrel life. Thanks in advance

Use your search feature. Many threads on the 6mm SLR.

That said. No question, the BR cases will provide better bbl life.

I hope I'm not disappointed but I'm expecting to get more barrel life out of my 6slr than my dasher/brx's. I figure the dasher/brx is good to 12-1300 rounds and I'm hoping to get 2000 out of my 6slr. I'm shooting the slower 4831sc in it so versus the varget it should get a little better barrel life. Being the dasher/brx's are benchrest guns and the 6slr is a tactical rig I could be wrong. One thing I've already learned in the tactical world is they don't give a crap about barrel heat and that might kill it quicker. I'll let you know next year this time ;)

The Dasher with a Brux barrel at 3000 rds. still a 1/4 minute+. SLR …… shot in the high .1's new gained a 100 fps. over the dasher with 10 more grains of powder ……. sold everything Dasher is more accurate… head and shoulders above the SLR. Case life Dasher can't wear them out. I don't shoot Varget except to fire form, never shot that good, RL-15 H4895 and 8208 seem the best. I guess it boils down to how you take care of them. Most are abused by horrible cleaning methods, and that in it's self ruins more barrels than bullets. You can't go faster and expect to get better barrel life, heat i run 20 rds in about six minutes in heavy all year and the barrel is still in a .1 or under at 100 yds and it was just set back to 26" to see how that works……… jim

I am with you. I don't own a Dasher but from all the owners that I see and talk too non of them are loosing barrels at that 1200 to 1300 round mark.... None of them. Not even Benchrest shooters who I feel dump there barrels a little before most other folks do. Not trying to call Bullshit here or be mean. The statement does not seem to add up.

If your thinking H4831sc is going to be the savior for the 6SLR because its a slower burning powder, you might be disappointed. Its Heat of Explosion is pretty high. Not N560 High but getting up there. If your looking to get as much as barrel life as you can, you may want to look at H1000 or N160 which are two proven performers in that case with a low Heat of Explosion.
With that being said I have shot H4831SC in the SLR this whole last season. Im not concerned about barrel life however unless its under 1000 rounds. I like new barrels.... Shoot em up.
