Input on Actions

Correct. It's pretty clear I am unable to put in writing what I'm in question about. You know I do not shoot competition. Yes, this is for the rat patch! I'm starting to regret I posted on this. Things will become very clear at Worthy's my friend.
Mike, no confusion here buddy. I'm clear on your intentions, just trying to make it clear here to others trying to help you out making an intelligent decision.

^^^^^ I have a Mountaineer in a 20 Vartarg, left load-left eject. Freakin awesome!
I have one also in a Dasher, also have a .223 bolt for it and think I'm going to chamber a 6x204 barrel for it with an 8 twist. My reamer is specked for 95gr SMK's and 87gr VMAX just so happen to fit perfectly also.

Love how on these threads the OP states a price point in a comment, in this case its less than $1200, and a bunch of people keep shouting expensive actions. Do they not read threads before they post a comment?

It’s like, “I would like to buy a car for $20,000 what should i get?” and everyone says “Get a new Lamborghini or a Ferrari, you wont be sorry!”

That doesn't mean you can't buy a used action for that $1000-$1200, Most of my Bordens I have bought on this site for way less than new, sometimes its worth the wait. 3 of my Bordens I got for $1200 and under, yes they were second hand but those 3 were unfired knew in the box and 2 of those were Rimrock BRM's, polished with polished rail and lug and Jewel triggers blueprinted by Jim. The other was also a new BRM with pinned rail and pinned lug for $1050.

In my book it's nice to get all the info I can, then I can keep what is useful and the rest didn't hurt me. Plus sometimes when you get feedback you may just decide its worth waiting a couple months so to save another couple of hundred bucks to go with another action rather than settling for something your not quite sure on.

I recommend Kauger actions almost without exception. All my rifles are Kauger. My wife shoots Kauger. My friends that shoot with me all shoot Kauger. I've sold a lot of their actions for them and I make both nut and shouldered Prefit barrels for Kauger.

Adam and Tim are both great guys. They always answer the phone and typically actions ship within a week. Also if you decide to order one you can tell them that you want the Urbanrifleman discount and get 5% off.

Recommendations for a righthand, left port ejection, single shot configuration, short action that would best be suited for a benchrest heavy varmint setup?
i have some remingtons that have shot really well.. plenty accurate for any varmint hunting i would do. my current 6br on one would take PDs at 700 Im sure. so i would get a remington and put my money in a premium barrel. save a thousand over wat you were thinking/- that would be alot to pay for the left port.

Does Kauger offer RBLP? I couldn’t find that option on their site.

I bet they do, I would call . I have a right bolt left port drop port BR3 on the way to my gunsmith now. Which wasn’t on their site either.

This is such an interesting point.

I often feel the same when, for example, some people will suggest using a different primer when the OP said he was using factory ammo.
I've also seen people post 'TLDR' and proceed to make an irrelevant suggestion.

When the OP is looking for something at a price, I think of the times when I bought something but later wish I had spent a little more for something that would better fit my needs.
Of course, sometimes the price the OP mentions is actually all they can afford - period. Without knowing how critical the price mentioned, sometimes having others suggest something that would really work - even at a higher price - can be helpful.

All that said, we're in an online forum with a LOT of members. It's simply what you get.
