Inletting a flat top....

Thanks man. The raw stock isn't perfectly flat/straight so setting it up was a head scratcher. I decided to work everything off of the flat spots on the butt. I'm excited to get the action in it.

I've done some with JB/Marinetex... it just isn't quite the same. Never used the devcon and want to give it a shot.

Ah. I got a couple acra-glass kits (2 bedding kits and 1 resit kit) that lasts 12 months before they turned rock hard. If it lasts half of that I'll be happy.

Glue is drying. I see what you mean about that stuff. It's like no other epoxy I've ever mixed.
It works great though! I also put a piece of Saran Wrap over my open jars of epoxy, make sure you push it down onto of the epoxy to get out any air and then put the lid back on, it helps it last a bit longer.

I just checked some that was 15 years old and it had hardened but I know I've used some that was 4 or 5 years old. I usually keep foil over top under lid to seal the container.

Maybe my bedding will fall out but I've only ever mixed Devcon by eye and it's always setup harder than woodpecker lips. I've even used it in 2008 to repair a transfer case on a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500.

I thought it was cool that it comes with speeds and feeds for turning in the instructions. According to the box it came in, it can fix ANYTHING

Lost a little goop forward of the tang but I’m happy with how it turned out my first time doing this all the way through. Still a lot to do!
