Indianapolis, Indiana Rifle Theft - need your help

Yesterday evening my long range benchrest rifle/scope was stolen from my vehicle in Indianapolis, Indiana - description being;

* Panda polished action number 10151 right bolt left port
* Shehane ST 1000 stock orange, green and black, stock is clear coated with polished buttplate
* Kelby polished 30MM rings
* Nightforce 8x32 Benchrest scope in Near 30mm rings
* Jewell 2 ounce trigger
* 6BR caliber
* muzzlebrake

I'm thinking they will try and pawn the rifle/scope however they may attempt to sell it online so thought I would provide a heads up to anyone who might be from the Indiana area.

Bummer ) :

I feel for you man! Thieves Suck. I sure hope he/she/they are caught. Probably stolen to sell for drug money. They try to promote drugs as being a victimless crime. I call BS on that!

I'm sorry for your loss. Chances are the thief will sell it for less than $200 to their drug dealer. Life isn't fair.

We should do like the Saudis do when i worked there if your caught stealing cutoff your hand then maybe these slim balls would think twice about stealing something!

they wont pay enough that im sure. Ive been through this before. Sucks!!!! Lee

Sorry to hear this. Think about changing the title of this thread to: Indianapolis, Indiana Rifle Theft, need your help.

I say this as I almost skipped over your post. I think it might help you recover your rifle.

At least everyone here will know and should immediately recognize the rifle.

Just a thought, and good luck, Dennis

Here is an older picture of the rifle....

Than
East of Indy here. Hopefully it turns up.

Thanks Chuck for posting a picture of my stolen rifle - looks exactly the same now with the exception it has a Nightforce Benchrest 8x32 scope on it versus an NXS.

I appreciate the supportive comments!

Thatll be sold for $500 as one of them "snipa rifles" hopefully itll start changing hands due to shortage of 6br ammo at walmart. Had a customer with a 250ack get his stolen and it finally showed up without the scope at a pawn shop having changed hands a bunch. Nobody could get ammo and just passed it on

Hope you had a separate rider policy on your insurance. Had all my guns and scopes stolen 2 years ago but luckily I had a rider policy on some of them or I would have gotten a 1500$ for all of them combined.

Bummer.

Always wondered why kind of resale value, if any, the BR rifles might have. As speculated, probably little to none. Unless trashed, it will probably turn up. Hope its in good condition.

In recent years Indianapolis has turned into an unsafe area. Daily shootings and break ins. I try to avoid area but still have to go there on occasions. Good luck on your rifle

Very sorry to hear the news! Brace yourself for a lawsuit because there wasn't two rifles to steal or this one didn't bring enough money!

Sorry to hear this news. Are you going to try contacting dealers and pawn shops? Hope you have it insured.
