In need of 77 Grain Sierra TMKs

I'm curious as to the different performance? Do they penetrate deeper/hold together better?

The ones I shot with the 18 inch suppressed MK12 SPR, the 77 TMKs went into the lung, 22 hole, and about 3 inches it exploded, just like what I've seen with Bergers. No exit wound.

The 2 I shot dropped, similar to what you see with CNS shot. That would most likely not the norm, hard to predict how an animal would react. Plus, data is too small to make any meaningful conclusion, it is what it is, simple anecdotal evidence.

Thanks.I was just curious. I have killed 10 or so out to 200 with the 77gr Sierra OTM. My favorite is high shoulder shot though. I used an 18" JP Rifles Wylde 8 twist suppressed.

I saw these pop up again today in limited quantities (sold out fairly quickly). Seems they are becoming more available but you still have to move fast to get them.

I have those one and a half of the 500 round sierra bulk packs of these. I'm going to have to load some up to join the frenzy!!!

Just a big thanks to folks reaching out. Between folks hitting me offline and letting me know availability (so all you folks looking for the same didn't snap them up) and Bamban being a good friend and sharing, I have acquired over 500 77 TMKs. With my Magnetospeed broken, any new load development will have to wait. So, I will be taking my previous loads and doing seat depth testing. That will be my deer round for this upcoming season, Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

Hebrews 13:16 - "Don't forget to do good and share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices."

Since the Sierra 77 TMK isn’t available I ordered some of those American Bullet 77 Tipped to give them a try in my new Tikka.

Thanks for the heads up.

Midway had some 77 TMK’s yesterday. Two box minimum and didn’t last long. That’s at least two vendors in the last few days that had them so they’re showing up more often. Loaded ammo has been popping up even more regularly for awhile.

I’m going to keep a regular check to see if any shows up. I also have a few alerts set up too.

A guy on M4carbine.net says these are indistinguishable from Sierra, and he's shooting them to 600 yards.
I was listening to the precision rifle media podcast. They had the owner of creedmoor sports on. They chatted about american bullet company bullets. The match bullet line are over runs they buy and sell cheaper. So yes thats a sierra 77gr tmk bought in bulk and repackaged The practice bullet line are what sounds like seconds but he didnt say that word.

Interesting. I know Midway gets Sierra's seconds and repackages and sells them. I gobble those up like crazy.

I have compared them side by side in 2 different riffles, and they are the same bullet. I wonder how there can be over runs of something that has not been in stock anywhere for several years? Why would Sierra discount something that they could sell easily at regular price? It's their company so they can do as they please, just doesn't make any sense to me.

I agree. No idea how or why but I'll take it.

I’d bet it’s some sort of silly contract permutation where they can’t piggyback off the contract run for retail but swapping the tip color and sold under a different generic name gets around the issue.

They are both the exact same shade of green.

Creedmoor also sells a .30 cal 169 gr BTHP. AFAIK - Sierra is the only company that makes a 169 gr BTHP, so I was also thinking [some] of the American Bullet Company bullets had to be manufactured by Sierra. In other words for anyone that might be looking for 77 TMKs, the ABC 77 tipped bullets are Sierra 77 TMKs. According to the website, they are not seconds.
