In expensive scope???

So, is there an inexpensive scope out there that holds? Meaning the reticle doesn't shift unless the turrets are turned
Purposely.
I have good scopes, but they are expensive. ($2-3000)
I would like to find a scope that is inexpensive maybe say $400-550 range.
It will be for rifles that i mostly just want to shoot off of a bench once in a while.
Around 6-24x ish
Prefer 30mm tube
Can be fine cross hair or a dot.

With so many new scopes out there now a day's it's tough.
Watched several reviews but they seem all over the place.

Which do you have experience with that you recommend?

Don't waste your time and tell me leupold.

New or Used?
I favor B&L 6-24x for used
Bushnell Elite Japan also
No problems with these
---
Have read good reviews of Arken and have looked through a couple myself and would not hesitate to try
(for a China Scope anyway) one of these for the $350 -$500 they ask
These were better as far as Glass and Clarity than a Vortex in the similar price range

Prefer new but used could work.

Vortex Diamonback

I have two of them and I've had one for 5 years and no issues.

I've got this big honking Discovery heading my way. Brand new from EBay, came in at about $350. With rings. Japanese glass. 34 mm tube. Plenty of reviews on YouTube. jd

Somehow, I dunno how, but Glass must have gotten cheaper
Don't know how they're offering what they do for that price
lets us know how it holds up
---
I did read they use Hoya Glass which is in Japan
---
Don't know what area they are cutting costs, unless we are all getting ripped off by every other company lol

Glass is subjective.... just because it's one Brand of glass doesn't mean it's that brands best. These companies sell their glass like the industries sell diamonds. They make a batch of glass and try to make it the best.... it doesn't always turn out that way.... they grade the batches and buyers look at the batches and buy what fits there needs for the intended grade of scope they are building in a given product line. A batch of glass may not meat the requirements for certain top their brands but may very well meet the requirements of a lesser brand or line of scopes in the same brand. So just because someone advertises they use so and so's glass doesn't mean it's the same as in a more expensive line of scopes. Also every manufacturer have their proprietary coatings formula... it sometimes even varies in-between product lines of the same brand.... and coatings make a big difference in what you see in the end product.

Tough to beat the Sightron S-Tac 4-20 with the MOA reticle for your purpose and price. Good glass, solid tracking, SFP MOA reticle is simple with a .250 dot in the middle.

I have several, along with the 3-16 version.

Good shootin' :) -Al

I never had a scope go bad or reticle shift without turning the turrets. From cheap 100$ nikons to 1000$+ zeiss sightron etc

That said midway has the athlon midas tac gen 2 6-24 on sale for 389$. You cant beat that value for the money. I love my Athlon scopes

I don't have any experience with them but swfa scopes are supposed to be known for holding zero when handled rough and also tracks when dialing. I don't know of any other budget scopes that will hold up.
