IMR Enduron powders... Who's had good luck with them?

I've tried IMR4166 and and IMR4451 in several different combinations with 223/308/6.5CM.

I've never found them to produce groups better than one would expect from mid-range factory ammo. They shoot REALLY well at low speeds, but if you run up to typical speeds for the mentioned cartridges, things go to hell in a hand basket quickly.

I ran 4166 in the 6.5 - Berger 140's in a 28inch barrel ~2500FPS and it shot bugholes. Almost any other powder in the same gun could get ~2800+ and have great groups...

Just one mans experience, and I'm curious what luck you've had with the IMR Enduron powders.

Just went through this as well. 4166 in my brx with 108 berger. Shot great groups at 100 yards with good velocity and deviation. But at 600 the groups went to hell. I fought it far to long trying to get it to improve. Finally gave up and use it to fireform brass.

I've been running 4955 in 6.5 CM and it has been doing well. Getting same accuracy as h4350. Which in my gun is 5 shots in the mid .3's. the velocity with this powder is down a little due to case capacity.

4166 in a 6BR groups well using 105 grain Berger bullets at 300 yards. Load is 28.6 grains tuned for the lower velocity nodes. The first two cleaning patches are very dark with carbon, but very little copper fouling present as advertised.

I ran two pounds of it testing a few bullets weights in 7-08 a couple of years ago. Good accuracy, unknown actual velocities. Good for my purposes, offhand practice. I would buy more if it was available.

Used 4166 in my .243 when H4350 was scarce as hens teeth, shot just as well.

A Big BRAVO! For IMR 4166

I shoot IMR 4166 in my .308 F-TR rifle and get comparable velocity/accuracy results at 1000 yards to Varget with 200 and 208 grain bullets. Both Varget and IMR 4166 need to be loaded under slightly compressed conditions to get the speed needed.
IMR 4166 performs very well for me in roomy 30-06 cases for my M-1 Garand and 1903 A3 vintage sniper rifle when shooting 178 grain ELD-M’s at 600 yards.

Today, I just tested my first load of IMR 4166 at ambient temperature in a .223 Wylde service rifle with Lapua brass and 77 grain Sierra MatchKings. I compared non-optimized loads of IMR 4166 and AR-Comp against my optimized load of Varget. My data are below.

IMR 4166 provides all of the velocity and accuracy I need for shooting matches with a slung service rifle at 200 and 300 yards.

Let’s not forget 8208. It works well in 223, I’ve not tried it in anything else yet.

By far one of the best powders. It can quickly go from "normal" to blown primers really quick though. It's excellent in most of the midsize cases
