IMR enduron powder

I loaded up some 4166 in my LC 12 Brass in a 308 with 155 TMKs and CCI BR-4 primers and had decent results. During load development, I was getting an SD of 4 at 44.2 and 44.6 grains. Velocities were at 2977 and 3004 out of a 30" factory Savage barrel.

Howdy !

Perhaps not the calibre you are interested in, but.....

IMR4166 seemed to burn rather "hot" in my Marlin M-336 XLR .35 Rem. Have not noted any other powder
I tried ( in .35 Rem ) that seemd to run as hot.

Easy clean up, though.

I am running 4166 in my 308 and light bullet 22-250 I have been happy with it so far. I do have a jug of 4451 that I have not had time to try out yet.

Imr 4166 appears to be working with 108 Bergers and 6mm Dasher at 300 yd. have not put them over chronograph but like results on target.

I gave a max load test in my wildcat with IMR-7977, it appears to be a smidge quicker than MagPro and H1000.

Velocity or burn rate???

Phil.

Just started playing with 4451 in my 260 with berger 130 hybrids with promising results. I don't have a velocity yet but I should have some numbers by the end of the month.

I tried out the 4166 in my .223 and .20 Practical as the two barrels I shot them in tend to copper up. Powder worked well but in my A/R, the brass came out so hot that it burned holes through my brass catcher. I was impressed with the powder enough to want to give it a good workout when I re-barrel a bolt .223 to .20 Practical. May be just the ticket for those scorching runs at high f.p.s. in keeping the copper levels down.

Been loading 4451 in 6x47L, 6XC, 6.5x47, & 260 Imp 30* since it became available, and have been impressed with the results. Not having had much luck in finding any H4350, I had bought some IMR4350, and have found 4451 to have a similar burn rate, though I'm getting a bit more velocity & accuracy with it vs. 4350. The biggest difference is that 4451 has shown itself pretty much immune to temperature changes, while the same can't be said for IMR4350.
