IMR 7828ssc in .243

I am looking for shooters that are shooting IMR 7828ssc in there .243 with 105 grain bullets. I just replaced one of my 6mm Competition Match barrels with a .243. I have a decent load with H1000 but considering trying the 7828ssc. Any information even if it is an AI, SLR, or another variant would be appreciated.

Thanks
Don Dunlap

Quickload shows 46.5 gr of IMR-7828/7828ssc is "about" MAX (60,000psi+/-) with 105's in the 243w.

Hodgdon's reloading data claims 44gr as max.

So far, Quickload has not steered me wrong.

Sorry I don't have real world data and if my post is not useful I'm sorry.

Thanks Ackleyman, I have ran Retumbo in several .243's and 105 amax's, it is good.

Zero, I ran it in QL changing the H2o capacity of my brass, bullet length, case length and it works out good for this 28" X-Caliber barrel.

I am just hoping to get some experience users to give me a thumbs up that it works for them.

Thanks,
Don Dunlap

Hey Don,

I run it my SLRs with nice results. Running mid 44grains with 108s around 3125w 28" and 3060 w26"....coated bullets....so work up.

Good luck!

I don't know if this helps you any . I did this years ago for my son , in a 243 for hunting . I used IMR7828 with a 100 gr partition . this was before the short cut was available . it shot well . the only problem I had was the highly compressed powder charge would push the bullet back out . I had to reseat the bullets the next day . I think the ssc ( short cut ) will solve this problem . if I were to start to load for that rifle again I'd sure give IMR7828ssc the first try . Jim
