IMR 4227 and H4227

I've read that these are the same and from the same facility. Is that correct? I'm wanting to substitute IMR 4227 for H 4227 in a sub sonic load.

Thanks

Check the label for where it was made. I can't say for sure that they are or are not the same now, but the Canadian 4227 was considerably faster than the Australian.

Currently 2017 H is made in Australia. IMR is made in Canada.

A few years ago, both were made in Australia (AR2205).

Your can should list country of manufacture .

Start low, work up. Or in your case DOWN :D

I would look these up on a burn rate chart and see how they compare. If your are tinkering with sub sonic it will probably not be an issue. Your Chrono will tell the story. The hogdon reloading manual may list both.
