Imperial sizing wax

Guys
For years I have been using mineral spirits for washing my cases after sizing using Imperial sizing wax.
For some reason I can no longer get the wax removed from cases using this method.
I even got rid of the old mineral spirits and am using a new batch.
I can again tumble the cases to get rid of the remaining wax but other then individually wiping them down
the wax isn't coming off.

Anyone out there have a better method?

Leo

Yes, quit using it. I used to use it too, seems like everyone at a match was using it. One time, I was having a particular hard time sizing a larger case using the wax. On a whim, I pulled out an old RCBS lube pad and RCBS sizing lube (had to be 20 years old) and the cases sized great! That's all I use now, RCBS sizing lube with the same pad. It's water based and it wipes right off, clean.

Wax is not water soluable, dries, cakes, and gets mean as snake to get off,

i use RCBS and have for 50 years, never stuck case, sizes and cleans off with dry rag.

After I size, just wipe each case with a paper towel. When I finish loading, use a small spray bottle filled with alchol and spray on a towel and wipe each case. Squeaky clean.

Unless you're using an inordinate amount, forget about it. It won't hurt a thing.

I only use the wax for rounds that have been fired in my M1. They expand a whole bunch and my last set of dies would get way to many stuck in them. I have also used it for sizing garand brass from cmp guns. other than that I use rcbs lube kits that my dad got for me a while back.

I use the Imperial wax, then tumble in cob media.

I occasionally use the RCBS lube, but do it in a different way. Put a few drops on the pad, then touch your finger/thumb to the little puddle as you would with the imperial. As you pick up the round turn it slightly to spread the lube as you put it in the press. This way cuts a lot of time, try it.

I still have some Imperial, but rarely use it any more. I like Hornady Unique much better. Have had no problems with it, and it is not as thick as Imperial. I simply wipe it off with a paper towel.

I just use a rag with Isopropyl alcohol wipe them off then a trip thru the corn cob. Never had a problem.

I use Scotch whiskey to clean mine off.

Pour a little single malt in a glass, with one ice cube....drink it and wipe the cases off with a micro-fiber cloth. Works everytime.

Hornady One Shot does work well, especially if you stand up a bunch at one time and spray them all. It's pricey though.

I think we are talking about doing a smaller amount of cases, like at a match or at the range. However, I typically lay about 10 cases at a time on the lube pad and use the palm of my hand and roll them all at once. Takes very little time.

Imperial for forming cases and neck turning(mandrel), Hornady 1 Shot for sizing.

hey, thats what i use! (with a bit more ice)that's been a long term recipe of mine, why change a good thing? I love the imperial wax,i do flush the dies with brake cleaner spray and use Hornady dry lube spray (not the case spray) after they have been used for awhile.

i used the "case lube" to "lubricate" the slides on my press ONE TIME! it siezed it up so bad it took a long time to free it up! i'll never use the case lube spray again. they used to make a red can for cases and a black can as a gun cleaner and dry lube spray but that changed.

lubricant is a bad name to use on the red can. It may be good on cases but i'll stick to the wax
