My first one came with a 3" or 4" sunshade, and a felt cover, that covers the scope with the sunshade screwed on. No caps, which would be a nice thing to have also.
Well i have a Bausch& Lomb 36X that is terrific and just the other day i got another off Ebay for $380 plus from the same Bloke a 36X Sightron $300 and $32 freight to Aussie land even if i don`t like the sightron i know i can get more than what i paid for it here in Aus and the Bausch & Lomb well if its like my other one i would have paid $600 for it alone no worries will probably end up with the sightron on my rim fire for 50 and 100 yard shooting in comp.
Looks like i will have to build a 6BR for the B&L.
Yep, always NEED something- -either too many guns, or too many scopes....,and you can never have too many guns, or scopes)
Evidently the S2 36x is being up graded, Midway has Sightron "Big Sky" scopes listed, but none on inventory. I'm wondering if they didn't go for a 50mm objective. Price looks $100 higher also.
I really like my Sightrons. I have two 36X's on my competition guns. I'll be interested to see the new model when it comes out. As for customer sevice, how's this...I bought one used from another member of this forum but when he went to get it ready to ship my way, he noticed a problem in the optics that he had'nt seen before. He contacted me and let me know the problem and he also contacted Sightron. He then shipped the scope directly to them, and a few days later they sent me a brand new scope. That's backing your product and then some.
I picked up a Sightron 36x today off of Ebay for $313.00. I checked Midway last week and they were all gone but price listed, presumably the price they listed will be for the new models) was something like $529.00. Yow. -Rod-
I hope you're right. Last year Walt,Berger) suggested I pick one up for the new 6BR and I've been mulling it over until now. I've got a Weaver T-36 on my 700VS that I'm very happy with though it can be a strain on the eyes. I'm going to put off shooting the ammo I currently have loaded up until after New Years I guess, so I can mount the new scope. -Rod-
Got the following from Sightron several days ago.
