I'm gonna ask Santa for a rangefinder - which one should I get?

BR2G7 does. Ranged goats at 1300 yds this hunting season with it. Have to get it pretty steady at that range, but it will do it. It won't range with a Vectronix. It's a hunting range finder. I chose it over the Vextronix for its ballistic profile that gives MOA drop when you push the button. Once you get your ballistics programed in it, works very well. I walk around on my range shooting steel at random distances to 1400 yds and the drop chart is dead on. It will range large objects over 2000.

You drew an antelope tag??? Those dang things are getting tougher to draw in my area every year. Finally drew last year and it was only about a 39% chance. Nothing this year, maybe next year.....

There are rangefinders that will outperform a Leica 1600 CRF or 1600 CRF B model, but they cost 3x as much and weigh 5x as much and are 4x as big.

The Leica 1600 will outperform the Zeiss PRF and the Leica 1600 has a more specific beam than the Zeiss that should give you confidence you are more probably going to get a reading from the object you want than brambles, bushes, or whatever with the wider beam divergence.

There are places where you can get the Leica 1600 CRF for a steal and they are worth every cent.

If you hunt they actually fit in pockets and don't require extra time fooling around with special cases.

Personally I would never own a rangefinder that performed less than the Zeiss and I will most likely buy one of the brutes someday.
