I'm Almost 65 and Just Bought 2 Bicycles....am I Crazy?

I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I take care of a coastal island used for duck, deer, dove, and fishing in salt water inpoundments. I can hunt, fish, farm, and shoot. And take a nap if I want to. Below are pictures of my favorite place on the porch and the kitchen table during a busy week. That table is 16 feet long.

Ah. Now I understand. That sure beat being tied behind a desk without any windows view.

I don't think you are crazy, but you maybe like the others on here that ride bikes. I'm sure all of you are card carrying wackos. But, I wish I could ride with you, but those days are past. I just got back from a short ride on my Honda Rincon ATV, I will need to install the snow plow soon.

Between my wife and I we own 4 bikes, two fat bikes and two road bikes. Her road bike is a Specialized e-bike. Fantastic technology but not cheap. In our riding group we call them "marriage savers." Now if she wants to (after a knee replacement) she can leave me in the dust. Fatties are fun in winter (on groomed trails) and summer along the shoreline of L. Michigan. I used to do TTs (broke an hour on the 40k at age 53) and then sold the TT bike to a triathlete. But they are also fun to ride. Lately been thinking more about dirt road riding since there are way fewer vehicles. As a cyclist, I agree with many of the complaints from non-riders about road etiquette. Two-across riding is unsafe and we don't do it. I also dislike the 3 or 4 foot passing laws. How do you enforce it? How can a driver "measure" it? IMHO it encourages some drivers to squeeze between the yellow center line and the rider. Rider turns slightly left to avoid a pothole and bam. Better/safer for a car to swing out wide when there's no oncoming traffic.

I pretty much ride everyday all year around as long as there is no ice on the roads.
Good exercise and a quick way to get around.
