if you was going to build?????

Toby,

One correction it was a 22-250AI It was a Douglas 8tw on a M12 older savage action. By 1000 round the throat was moving very fast, and accuracy was falling off. 1500 it was toast. I was pushing it 3400 f/s with 75Amax with RL22

223 with 1/8 twist barrel- 50gr nosler BT's are EXPLOSIVE out of it.
6mmBR with 1:8 twist for anything between 70gr noslers and 107SMK's
6.5x47L with 1:8 twist for 130 bergers- saying this Im building one of Robert Whitleys 260 improved with 30 degree shoulder for 140 hybrids (fingers crossed it works)
284W with 9 twist for 180 hybrids

another vote for the 22BR! i have an 8 twist but it prefers heavy bullets. had a 1 in 12 twist with a stiller single shot made using a kreiger rem contour and the thing shot a .25 in 4 shot group with bullets no 6,7,8,9! it now shoots in the ones with 64 gr bergers and vhitavhouri 540 powder. i'm a varmint hunter and nailed a ghog at 353 yds on fri and that bullet went EXACTLY where the sightron scope's dot tole it to go! 3400 fps will reach just about any target and still have enough energy to kill instantly. i love my 22-250s, but they burn a lot of powder and i'm getting some cracking and erosion even after less than 700 rds. the lapua br case is inherently accurate no matter what cal. barrel life should be in excess of 2000 rds +. a 20 BR shooting 55 gr bergers is rumored to be a 600 yd target challenger...so many to choose and so little time left.
