if you was going to build?????

I would go with more 6br's....i don't think you can have too many.
Maybe a 243 and either a 6.5x47 or 260, which i would like to build a 6.5 but don't know which to go with?

For your 22 I would go with a 22-204 Ruger. Better performance than 223ai but no fire forming. Just neck up and shoot. Just shy of 22-250 velocities. Inexpensive and readily available brass. For your 7mm I am partial to the 7-08 up to 600 yards no matter the application.

I have got to stop reading on this site. I currently own

223- AI 1-14 Twist
AR 15 223 1-14 Twist
22 -250AI 1-10 Twist
220 swift 1-8 Twist
25-06AI 1-10 Twist

And I am really wanting a 6mm is some configuration and, I when I build it and the old lady finds out I am going to blame it on this website.

Toby To comment on your question I think a 22-250 in the standard configuration would be a goog choice for you.

that's funny u mention that. I've been contemplating between a 22-250 and a 6mm br for the past week with a fast twist. that 75 a-max out of a 22--250 looks like it'd be something. I have a large shank savage target action I'm going to do something with. 6mm br though seems like it'd be more accurate. I'm getting a pac-nor again. probabaly going with a vais brake. I'm going to wait another week or three to decide.

is the recoild pretty easy? what about barrel life?
The 7x57 I have is about 8.5lbs. scope and ready to hunt. Its got untold number of shots through it but still shoots .75" at 100 of a bipod anytime any day. My 5 foot tall wife can shoot it as well as a .22 so Recoil is more then managable. I used it to kill a mature bull elk last year and it worked well enuff that I sent my .338 to a new owner. :)

having several different calibers but i always seem to grab the same three every time.... I always end up using a .223,.243.308. I have others but i never take them out...these three always do everything i need...they are my go to guns

Toby,

In 22 I'd do an 8 twist .22-250
In 6mm I'm having a .240NMC built by Randy Gregory (necked up .22-250)
In .260 (have one already)
In 7mm I'd go with the 7mag (have one already)

These, along with my .223's and .308's cover pretty much anything desired by me.

i'll prob stick with my 6.5x47 lapua till it's wore out then swap out barrels and do it again. just gotta stock up on brass. shot 4 inch group this morning in sh*tty wind conditions at 806. I'm going to shoot this gun and same load till it's just second nature.

.222 (loong barrel life and still holds the record 100 yd group and Lapua brass)
.6br
6.5x47 or .260 REM
.284 or 7rem mag(barrel life a little shy)

I would/do have,

22br
6br
6.5 Grendel (AR) no point in having a 6.5 bolt gun. What ever the 6br can't get done the 284 will.
actually I would have a 7-08 for your 6.5 option. ;D
284

Option B, put a 40deg shoulder on em and never trim brass.

223/5.56
no interest
260
7-08 for most things, 7mmRM for everything else.

Build your 22BR. Feeding may be an issue but single feed and you're done. One pass with a 6BR case in a 22BR full length die and you're set. 25+ firings on the brass that has been shoulder bumped and neck sized and still going strong. 8)

If you want reliable feeding, and ammo that can be found just about anywhere, (If you don't roll your own) go with the .223. Lots of critters (as well as Men) have been killed with that round and they can be REAL accurate. Low recoil, accurate, ammo availability and long barrel life? Just what you're after. 8)
Build both the 22BR and the .223. ;D

Greetings,
This is my "must have" target rifle battery.
.223 1-8 twist will shoot anything well.
6BR enough said
.260 Rem 1-8 twist, everything from 85gr HP's for small critters to 142SMK's for up to 1000.
.284 Win, 180 Berger Hybrids on top of H4831 SC.

And of course a .308.....

Good luck,
John
