Sounds awful.Imagine cherry cheesecake so deep your spoon would never touch bottom!

If I could only own one rifle, I'd be really, really pissed, and there'd probably be a bunch of rifles buried in cosmoline somewhere in the desert in a location only I know...
But the one left in my possession would probably be my .270 M70 Super Grade Maple...
I hope this makes sense.don't see a bolt gun as any disadvantage
I hope this makes sense.
A bolt gun is great for getting food and such, but up close and personal - as in a combat scenario, not so much.
In my opinion only owning ONE gun, it would have to be a utility rifle. -- One gun for everything. For me, that would mean ... also the ability to rapid fire. Plentiful ammo, and ammo you could get from other sources, people, or even pick it up off of the ground in a SHTF scenario. (I actually don't have a SHTF or zombie killer mentality.)
So I would choose one of the most common calibers in a configuration that can accommodate most, if not all, roles. An AR-10 would be it for me.
Or my M1 Garand. Good shooter, .30-06 readily available, reliable, can still get a lot of attachments for it. Here is my 1943 Winchester M1 Garand.
