Idaho - heaven on earth?

Nice mulie! What drainage were you hunting? Do a rough score on that rack yet?

That area is Boise foothills zone, you can google earth by looking around Anderson ranch reservoir. That’s a buddy’s mulie, and you can’t really tell at first glance but there are 2 deer on the quad.
4 years ago much of this entire area burnt, and took out a bunch of cabins at the northeast end of the reservoir. I have seen a number of larger mulies come out of this area.

Wow these pics posted in this thread are absolutely breath taking I've never seen beauty like that with my own eyes in real life!!!! Are any of yall taking any Australians in there at Idaho??

My wife and I travelled to your great country in 2011 we spent most of our time in Florida which was also beautiful. Had I known there was scenery like that in Idaho would have went there. The people we met in florida were absolutely lovely very warm and welcoming. We also made some friends on a cruise we did with a couple from the seattle which was also very scenic from pics shown. Would love to come back for a visit one day shame the flights are so damn expensive.

Agreed. Where were you?

Folks actually say - "welcome to Idaho!"
The postal delivery person, neighbor- (mail Tuesday & Friday) - wears coveralls - and brought a 6 pack of bud light over to say hi.
pic from hike today. treeline further right out of frame.

CT10ring, I was in Idaho Falls area and spent a week in a cabin just outside Victor. I went over the pass a few times to Wilson and Jackson. Moose were really on the move the first week of October!

God has made many wonderful places on this earth. All are to be treasured, but none are Heaven.
In Heaven there will be no pain or sorrow, no death or heart ache. If you have never placed your faith
in Christ, now is the time. We will all spend eternity with or without God. Make a good choice.

Appreciated. Maybe a poor description at the inception. Idaho: new to me, beautiful, wild and welcoming.

And, ... I'm stumped on the "bite size". 30 miles, could be Winchester, clear up to Moscow. Somebody needs to enlighten!

Don't be stumped. For some reason many of the Lewiston restaurants feature a local treat they call "bitesize" which is just another name for small pieces of steak and, in many cases, not the finest cut of steak. It can appear in almost any concoction, such as a topping on a green salad. I think the 30 mile reference was meant to imply that you would know about "bitesize" if you were close enough to dine at Lewiston restaurants. I can tell you, I have not encountered "bitesize" at the "Lake City" Cafe, which just finally reopened in Winchester. The Winchester Saloon, which just reopened next door does serve some monster bone-in ribeye and T-bone steak dinners though. You have to cut your own small pieces.

Hmmm, I don't know about the cuts of meat, the places my family and I get it, it's very good meat, and it ain't inexpensive, either. My brother in Kirkland, WA makes his own version, marinated, breaded, then pan fried in butter. To die for. Cardiologists love him!

Just got back from elk huntin' the Cuddy mountains. No snow there, just lots of miserable rain. bad enough we bagged the tent campin' and hunted out of the cabin. Didn't do squat but son and I had a fine time!

I'll be checkin' out the Winchester Saloon. Sounds like a cut above Effies!

So - I move to central Idaho from NE U.S. (un-gun friendly - to very gun friendly).

"Need" + purchased a new 9mm. check.

Place an order for 500 rds Fiocchi from Brownells.

Brownells can deliver to my part of ID ** ONLY ** by USPS Priority Mail.
Loaded ammo cannot be shipped by USPS Mail.
So - Brownells cannot sell me ammo. ever.

Amazon, on the other hand, delivered a 10" Forrest Woodworker II blade from Clifton, NJ
in -- 2 days. Fedex & UPS here as well.

Ironic. But the customer service rep @ Brownells isn't feeling it.

darnit.

Article on Bloomberg today talking about California’s real estate market driving liberals to Boise, Phoenix and Reno in record numbers. Same thing happened to us already in Oregon as mentioned by others.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...pitalize-on-the-california-real-estate-exodus

I can promise you bloomturd is promoting conservative states to liberals for gun control and politics. Over populate with liberals and they will control/tax everything just like CA. Sorry but even conservative Californians are infected with overly moderate standards.
