I think I found my load for my 223

I've got 2LB of 3031 and 2lb of H-380 I'm saving for a 220 Swift 14 twist that's coming next week, be using the same bullets, hope they work.
The 22-250 likes the 52gr SMK as well if the Swift doesnt like the bergers. I'm running 34.7gr of IMR-4064 in the 22-250. She will drive tacks with either bullet.

I got a few jugs of mp460 that has a bur rat of about n120. I've been using it in my ar with 55gr soft point. The powder was a pretty good deal, so I got 2 8lb jugs aff the basis it was supposed to be a burn rate of n140, was going to use it for 308 and 147/155s. To fast so I've got a bunch of light bullet powder lol. Check redeyereloading.com they sell a bunch of surplus and canister grade fairly well priced and free shipping.

Those are good barrels, surprisingly good. I bought a new takeoff stainless fluted like yours at a gunshow. Screwed it on an old 722 action laying around, and into an old stock that was also laying around. Thing shot pretty well. It likes Ballistic Tips just fine, doesn't like TNT's which are usually very accurate. And VV133 is always good with 50's. What got me was the velocity. The load I chose was 26.5/133 with a 7-1/2BR in IMI brass.

I shoot close to this same load in my Rem 700 sporter, 26.0g of N133 IMI brass and SIG brass.

Using N135 with the 55g Noslers is awesome with 7 1/2 also.

I have another load with Benchmark, ***cci 450's*** 55g Nosler Varm are the most accurate, touching the lands @ 3450 fps.

Groups are amazing to say the least.

Been trying different things this is what I done this morning. Remington 700 22" barrel, 1/12 twist, it's one that I bought from a member on here. I think it's fairly good compared to what I normally do.View attachment 1260761View attachment 1260762
I ended up going the light fast projectile way with my 223. Howa 1500, 1 8n 12 twist running a 40 grain VMAX. In PA. terraced farm fields produce eddy currents in the wind and the 223 is sensitive to wind with heavy bullets due to time of flight or produces a rainbow trajectory useless for field range estimates.

At 300 yards, in calm winds I can get good groups with 55 and 40 grain projectiles, 1" to 1c1/8", but the muzzle velocity with the 40 grain is significantly faster. What that ends up doing is producing better overall groups in varying wind conditions at working ranges, on chucks head shots at 300 and body shots beyond that. I don't stretch beyond 400 unless it's really calm.

Got more loaded up for Wednesday morning seated a little further out .02 off the lands, .

I have several loads for the 223 caliber, one of my favorites is as follows.
BLC-2, 26.7grs, 55gr Sierra Blitzking, Remington 7.5 primer, PMC brass, case length 1.750, OAL from tip to base 2.250.
Accuracy out of my Savage 110 20 inch 9 twist heavy barrel is 0.315, 5 shot groups at 100 yards, it's so consistent with these groups it's almost boring.
I chose BLC-2 because it flows like water through a RCBS powder measure and I wanted to load a lot of rounds to go Prairie Dog shooting in Montana.
I have two other 223 rifles one is a 20 inch 8 twist barrel the other is a 18 inch 8 twist barrel they love this load also.
I also use this load for coyote hunting, bang flop they're done.

A word of caution I've heard that BLC-2 will ring barrels longer then 20 inches but I don't know that to be fact.
I have friends using this load in rifles with barrels longer than 20 inches that are not having any issues.

Have a great day everyone.

Went to the range early yesterday, .02 off the lands is chicken squat, opened up further than a, can't put what I'm thinking. Anyway that did not work, back to .03 off and try .04 for the heck of it.

Same powder load 25.5GR COAL 2.23 went to 2.24 All the mumbo jumbo of the Talisman couldn't help this time.
