I really need a new front rest!

I posted this in the gear section but have had no responses and I want to order or post a wanted add for whatever front rest I might need, here is the story,...

Hey fellas what front rest would you suggest for me. I shoot 1000 yard bench rest, I have been using a Caldwell Rock Creek and it was okay for the first two years but I am starting into my 3rd season and want to upgrade as in equipment that is the only department I believe I am lacking in, I don't mind spending the money but I don't want to do it twice, I was leaning towards a Sinclair but I would greatly appreciate your advice and suggestions
I would like to hear pluses and minuses, I don't think I will be shooting any f-class this year, just BR thanks in advance :)

Hey Wayne,
I hope you don't mind? I would like to add one question to your post. I have been looking at different front rest myself lately.

How well does the joystick work with a front rest? Seems like this would be a lot easier for adjustments vs my Sinclair with non windage adjustment?

Again Wayne. I'm not trying to high jack. Just adding a question to your questions already asked.
Thanks
Mark

I ve been using a caldwell rock br rest with a lot of mods to tighten everything up. Its A LOT better than it was but is a day and night comparison next to my brothers sinclair. I know the higher end rests get great reviews but I have no expirience with any of them. After using his sinclair once is when i was really able tell how many problems my rest really had........hence the reason he gave me the caldwell. Btw we both have our rests anchored to adjustable steel plates for a super stable base. I made mine frome 3/8" and I think his sinclair is also.

I you can afford the SEB NEO, ask to be put in line.
It will be the best decision you will ever make on a rest....

HI NEIGHBOR, I HAVE THE OLD STYLE SEB, FINALLY GOT IT SET AND LIKE IT. I SHOOT 600&1000 AND WHEN YOU ARE GOING FROM THE CLAY BIRDS ON THE GROUND AND BACK TO THE TARGET IT IS GREAT, IF, AND I DO MEAN IF, YOU HAVE IT SET FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE RIFLE . MY SON HAS THE NEW SEB AND IT IS A LOT BETTER, I'M GOING TO BUY THE FIRST ONE THAT I CAN FIND. IT'S NOT PICKY ABOUT WEIGHT AND SMOOTHER. ALSO, IF YOU DO ANY POINT BLANK BENCHREST THE NEW SEB IS BETTER ABOUT HOLDING POSITION WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR HAND OFF THE JOYSTICK. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO SHOOT F CLASS IS GO THE SIX INCH LEGS. WE HAVE TRIED A LOT OF DIFFERENT BRANDS FROM THE SINCLAIR ON AND LIKE THE SEB'S BETTER, ESPECIALLY THE NEW ONE. THEY ARE HARD TO FIND AND TAKES FOREVER TO ORDER ONE. MY TWO CENTS WORTH, JF

Most 1,000 yard shooter do not use a joystick rest.

I like the new Sinclair rest.

I have the new Sinclair rest and like it a lot although if I had the extra cash it would be a SEB rest-I just cannot justify it at this time.

It's really odd but more than half of the people I know (most in fact) that tried the 'handle" rests sold them. The rest of the folks just love them- seems like the PPC short range guys mostly all have them...of course they all wear the same kind of underwear too Lol.

Really seems to be a luvem or hatem thing with them handle rests.

If you have never seen a Randolph Machine front rest you may want to take a peek before you pull the trigger...probably not a nicer one made and the big knobs being close together make for quick aiming. If you like the Sinclair you will really like this:

Wayne, If you like twisting knobs and not fiddling with joysticks here's my suggestion: http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/tag/jj-industries/ I've had one for two years and would not part with it.

It's built like a fine Swiss watch with microscopic tolerances and a work of art. Call the phone number, shown on the base, next to the speed screw.

Thanks Guys, you have given me several options to look at and that was my goal, some excellent advice and fist hand knowledge and that's exactly what I was looking for, I also got several P.M's so I will search out the options and info given, your expertise is very much appreciated, you don't have to stop though, I can use all the advice you can give, any tips or tricks? tweaks or peaks?

Mark,
You can't hijack one of my threads, as your totally welcome to ask any question you like as long as it has something to do with firearms or firearm related, so ask away my friend and maybe we will learn something together.

I have a JJ as well and it is a fine rest.......I bought a NEO and didn't care for it, not saying its bad, just not my cup of tea...I also have a Seb Gen II joystick, and why its very nice I still find myself wanting to use the JJ.

Cigarcop,
What discipline are you shooting? Looks like the JJ has been discontinued?? any thoughts on where to get one? I do really like the looks of it.
Wayne.
