I need to quit reading this forum......

You have the key tools...… and now the slow bleeding begins. :D

IMO there are certainly a lot worse things to blow your money on. If you want return on investment shoot the matches and pal up to the guys also shooting, the camaraderie makes it worth every darn cent. Just think of all the aimless lost souls shoving money into the machines at the gambling joints with nothing to show for it except maybe a free plastic coffee mug every now and then.
I live in a +55 community. Lots of these dummies wear those preferred customer necklaces as a badge of honor. And call going to the casinos as a way to get out and do something. I quess they`re right if throwing money away is doing something.

I SPENT most of my money on whiskey and women. The rest I WASTED.
Back in the last century cold Jack Daniels and hot women ruled the day. Now as I`m bearing down on 68, cold iced tea and hot gun barrels are the best things to do.Two reasons: I`m never hungover on iced tea and the guns will heat up without telling them "I Love You". Jeff

I spent way more money on alcohol and tobacco products and never once questioned where the money went. Wish I was the same way with firearm related products and accessories. I normally spend 200-400 $ a month. I used to spend that kind of money a week on my bad habits back in the day.

I yearn back to the day I first went to a range with a 22 Henry Frontier and a box of Golden bullets. Life was simpler (and easier to get all of shooting stuff from the car to my bench). There is NO limit whatsoever to what one can spend. There are "checkbook" shooters who are of the belief that the more they spend, the smaller the groups, and those (non competition shooters) who understand that it is the shooter, the wind, the rifle and then all of the rest of the paraphernalia that one can go broke spending on to get that last 1/8" off one's groups at 100 or 200 yards.

For 30 years I reloaded and shot with minimum consternation. Then I discovered this site and 2 more: very interesting, let's measure this and weigh that....someone changed something and shoots 50 shots inside 1/2" hole. Neck turn or not, use mandril or button, carbide or steel, shoulder bump, use shims or not, buy dies with sleeves or not, weigh each case, which scale is most accurate....lots of $$ reloading tools to try. Now my time to reload is 3X what it used to be.

Like Joy and Rory sang about...."ya gotta go back". I enjoy shooting and reloading but my eyes and body, nor my guns are capable of that 50 shot 1/2" group. I'm a 17 yr old trapped inside a 75 yr old body. I have simplified my reloading process, keeping some of what I've learned, and shortened the time spent but not the enjoyment from reloading and you know what, that 17 yr old kid still has fun.
