I am looking to have an action re-finished. I don't know who to send it to for Ceracote(sp) or similar coating. Who do you guys use and what is the cost for having a long action done? Does it need to have the truing done before coating or can it be done after coating? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Not sure of the coating where to, but you'll need to do the blueprinting before the coating...

David,

James is just getting in to cerakoting. You might ask him what he would do for you.

What color are you looking for? I do Duracoating (read about it and decide if that will work for you). I am painting flat black about 1/x per week so I could do it for you quite inexpensively. PM if interested.

I can do it and blueprint the action. $150 for a complete action coated in any color and with the microslick treatment for the bolt. My price for the action job and barrel fitting would be $375 plus return shipping.
Send me a PM if interested. Thank you

You'll want to have all machining work done prior to coating, and if you're going to want a matching barrel, have that installed first too. I own a refinishing shop that uses Cerakote, Duracoat, and several of the high tech PVD coatings such as TiN, NiB, TiAIN, etc.
