My opinion is when one of us gets arrested,you take my place in jail for 10 or so years.It is easy to make your proclaimation to defy the law when it doesnt affect you personally.They(state and local police) are already making arrrests here and there to test the waters.Our govenor cumo wont back down like connecticuts gov did.There will be alot of arrests if cumo has his way period.Time will tell and I have a gut feeling it will get worse.

I unfortunately live in NY as well, and I'm not doing it, either is anyone I know. Many agencies said they aren't going to enforce it. Who has been arrested that you know of?

Very serious, do you actually have names of people arrested, or is this rumor?
If people were being arrested I can't believe the NRA wouldn't be all over this. Is it being reported in your local news? If it's a scare tactic they would be making a big deal on the news.

I read of a Magazine limit violation that the Judge threw out. Most recently a couple guys was shooting near Buffalo and I believe got a assault weapons charge.. I did read both but am looking for a link..

I read about the arrest in lancaster ny and it was 3 guys who supposedly dropped a bullet into the ex police chiefs backyard.They impounded the drivers car.Then they opened his trunk and took his 2 rifles.They got him on a couple violations such as the legality of the armr2 fixed mag lock,reckless endangerment.Look it up on the scope site as it may be there.

I read that article. I'm sure there was a lot more to it than was reported. That whole article was shady. Bottom line is, nobody got arrested for not registering.

put a spur or thorsden set up on it for a few years, until the crap can be over turned. they are being sold that way in nys gun stores right now. I would not register anything for confiscation. Also, it is past the deadline, i herad about an extension, but that is because they are desperate. I'm sure you vote, but get others registered and one issue vote for Astorino. The sheriff here will not enforce it.

Our local Sheriff is not "looking" but I KNOW if someone violates otherwise and gets jammed up, they will "Pile ON" the SAFE act charges to gain traction for a plea. It is how it works. And you can cry "unconstitutional" till you are sitting in the local jail waiting for your trip to the state facility.

Now here is where it gets murky. NYSP has a hotline. Kinda like a "Dime your local KGB" sorta thing. So IF you once had a girlfriend and now don't, :'(, or IF you once PO'd the neighbor by cutting "his" shrubs" or IF your kids physician asks "any guns in the house?" or IF your rat-fink ex-boss once shot your AR :-[...well, welcome to the former USSR.

Anyone who has not moved them, registered them, or otherwise and talks about it should get a brain and realize it is the law (wrong as it is) and play a bit smarter in the sandbox.

Your a good man there jon! ......It's sad when it comes to a point in this country when a law abiding citizen feels he has to "look over his shoulder" because of being worried about breaking a law or laws that were never around just a few years ago! What happened to our freedom?!!! I think you will know what you must do if the time comes where your freedom will be infringed. I know most all of us feel that way. I hope and pray for this country...until then I guess we live a day at a time!
