I wouldn't mine moving to Las Vegas. I would love the opportunity to go shoot long distance out in the desert. Frankly I love the desert heat and environment, reminds me of Terlingua Texas which used to be my playground as a child.

I used to work with a guy who spent exorbitant amounts of money on all kinds of things. Home theater systems. Cars. Rifles. One day he'd complain about how much debt he was in, the next he was planning to buy a multi-thousand dollar custom rifle.

If you think guns are getting expensive, check out carbon fiber racing bikes. I competed for 5 years - many 100's of races years ago,
on a titanium frame bike. Took a long break, now back at it a bit as a much older master. The bikes are easily
$10,000.00+! And the carbon wheels are $3500.00 / set. yes, that's 2 bike wheels. I did get a cheaper carbon fiber frame, tho...

And that's just for the bike. Add another $400.00-$500.00 for your shoes, 2-5 thousand dollars for a power meter, etc

When reading and thinking about this thread I started to add up my Savages. When all said and done with action. recoil lug, barrel, bases and rings, optics and stock and trigger I went over 3k. So I now have around 7k into two bench guns, neither of which can be considered customs.
I haven't built a hunting one for less than a $1000 yet either.

Very true. This is the one hobby that truly asks what is money? They only understand expense accounts.
I had a couple of months in it Dusty. Off and on. Hard to count the time waiting for glue to set and finishes to dry etc. Tons of sanding time!
