My first car was a V8 Vega.
Nah. I was a hotrodder and dropping a V8 into a Vega was my plan since I was 13 years old. Of course that was back when Vegas were a dime a dozen.Perhaps this is why yours had a V8?

Wish I could afford both guns and cars. Miss my 67 mustang and my f100. Would love another 2wd truck (been looking at 351w lightnings) but building a house will take all fundage. How many guys on here are still into cars as well as guns ?

I have had this problem all my life, it used to be race cars, now it is waiting for that new gun or some part to show up. I'm an old man now and you would think that by now i would have learned to deal with this, it's not like i don't have a safe full of other toy's to play with since there's enough firearms in there that from time to time i "find" one i had forgotten about.
This time here i am at 5:00am Sunday morning looking at the fedex route map tracking my new to me, well broken in Savage 110 tactical crawl it's way along I-90 from New York to outback Oregon on whatever snail they strapped it to. I mean come on guys I-90 is still having snow storms, take pity on that poor snail, he's slow enough when the weathers good!
You would think a old man could deal with this at this point in life, but nope it just isn't gonna happen, next they will be expecting me to grow up! Come on Thursday, what in the world is taking so long, give that snail more coffee, he don't need no sleep!

Originally was going to use a 265 I bought out of a 56 Chevy but the motor mounts were different so I found a 4 bolt 350, freshened it up and put it in the Vega. I got the same MPG as the 4 banger but MPH increased considerably.Yup... I tried to find a 283 V8 for mine, no joy. What engine did you fit?
Was heavy into shooting groundhogs, then heavy into girls, then heavy into 1967 Firebird, then heavy into college, then heavy into marriage and then kids, then job, while nursing along the groundhog thing, then heavy into rifles, buying mostly, then reloading, working for Redding and being a cop, then heavy into recovery from injury, and buying guns. Now I fart about with guns and am heavy into getting outta debt from the injury and refurbing my inherited house. I am still married, still have kids and there are no groundhogs here...so...I AM BACK INTO THE FIREBIRD that I kept from age 19. Life circles. Eventually I will be sitting in my poop, drooling and fading, but I hope to one day drive that car again before that happens.
