I have had this problem all my life, it used to be race cars, now it is waiting for that new gun or some part to show up. I'm an old man now and you would think that by now i would have learned to deal with this, it's not like i don't have a safe full of other toy's to play with since there's enough firearms in there that from time to time i "find" one i had forgotten about.

This time here i am at 5:00am Sunday morning looking at the fedex route map tracking my new to me, well broken in Savage 110 tactical crawl it's way along I-90 from New York to outback Oregon on whatever snail they strapped it to. I mean come on guys I-90 is still having snow storms, take pity on that poor snail, he's slow enough when the weathers good!

You would think a old man could deal with this at this point in life, but nope it just isn't gonna happen, next they will be expecting me to grow up! Come on Thursday, what in the world is taking so long, give that snail more coffee, he don't need no sleep!

I'm beyond all that being in a hurry. Try some Stoicism.

(Hmm, how come my Amazon prime purchase didn't arrive in the one day they said it would?) :p

OT somewhat but I had a barrel shipped from Ohio to me in Delaware. I'm tracking it and after a week, it's still in transit. Then I get an update it's in Salt Lake City, Utah. WTH?? I got it eventually but what should have been three days turned into two weeks. At least your snail is on the right route.

I once sent a package with the U.S. Postal Service from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Portland, Oregon. The tracking went like this: San Juan, Miami, Portland, Miami, San Juan, Miami, Portland, Miami, Portland. 3 weeks.

You're not thinking straight. If you had planned better and ordered one new item every single day, you would be receiving new things on a daily basis and the wait would not seem so long ;).

I''m learning to be more patient as I get further in to this precision Benchrest stuff. It will happen when it happens. The other thing I learned is to always have something in process moving through the pipeline. Take delivery on a barrel, order another. Lather, rinse, repeat. 220 Beggs barrel for UBR score is next...right after the 30BR is finished up and shooting.

There could be a delivery today though! My gunsmith is changing out the Jewell for a Bix and Andy trigger on my PPC. Having a new barrel chambered and a new tuner added.

Bojo, after working on cars for over 50yrs, I don't care for them too much anymore.

There was a time when I ate, slept and breathed cars. My first car was a V8 Vega. A few decades in automotive service departments cured that problem. Also used to love fishing but a few years as a fishing guide blew that to hell.

Moral of the story: Never turn a hobby into a job.
