I just bought a CZ 457 varmint 22LR

I just ordered the bscar extended rail, and was wondering what rings and scope to get for it. I want nice but not empty the bank. Any ideas?

Dan , I went with Burris Signature rings and a Vortex Strike Eagle 6X24. I’m told that this scope has been discontinued and EuroOptic is closing them out at a considerable savings. I think you’ll like the Bscar rail too.

I put an Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50 in a set of 30mm TPS TSR low rings on the BScar 25 MOA rail on my 457 American. It's plumb comfortable to shoot without craning my neck to get centered on the Midas TAC scope. This is definitely a 'nice' scope & rings set-up, and since nearly all my other better quality scopes are mil versions, that's what I went with on this rifle. Optical quality is very good, as is tracking, and I like the reticle. The scope has an easy-to-set zero stop, and 10 mils per revolution. Even with the quality & feature set, it's light enough to carry nice. I have the same set-up on a Vudoo V-22 sporter, which cost me almost four times what the CZ did (after I'd re-barreled the American with a Shilen select match ratchet rifled blank); I'm also very pleased with the Midas TAC on the much more expensive V-22.

I'm also a fan of Burris Signature or regular ZEE rings. They've worked wonderfully on my builds.
As for the optic, I'm a fan of the Vortex Diamondback FFP series. I have two 4-16x's on a Savage MKII and a 455 build, looking for a third.
My focus was slightly above a budget build, requiring a 25yd parallax setting (NRL22 stages) and the ability to have a ranging reticle for my holdover shots without remembering subtentions at range. BHPhoto has all versions (4-16/6-24 and MOA vs MRAD versions ) for $299 (once added to your cart) with shipping included, but they charge me tax. Aside from combo deals with rings, I haven't seen it cheaper.

DanS.... thanks for the information on your new 22LR set up. Can you post a review off of this thread on how your gun shoots and groups with some of the different ammo you have tried ?
I am within a couple years of retiring and I want a real nice 22LR rifle. Looking at bolt gun I have stock Ruger 10/22 but would like a nice target gun too.
Thanks. Marty
