I don't shoot ladders

So what about us folks that have no access to anything beyond 300 yards then. I have been told by Sierra more than once that long slender bullet dont start to lay flat until about 300 yards so tuning at short distances will give false readings of accuracy. This is why I'm giving up on long range loads, building me a "short range" 6mm BR with the help of good member on here. Slow twist, light weight bullets and one hole groups out to 300 yards.
Hey buddy
Maybe head out back to a power line road or a old wheat field and set up a range for yourself.

Man I wish it was that easy. I have tried to ask a few farmers that own huge amounts of land to setup and shoot and they will have no part of it, they look at you like to just asked to date their 14 year old daughter. In Ohio you can not trespass on powerline right-of-ways. I have been following a few people at other matches around me and really there is only one match that is 600 yards and its 1.5 hours away, most are 200-300 yards this is why Im going in the light bullet direction with my BR's. I'm not really ready to venture out in to high level matches.

1.5 hours?
That’s a trip to town and back around here. Lol

Yeah maybe tell them you’re killing Prairie Dogs for um....

So to keep the thread on subject I tested a few loads at a thousand and narrowed down to this one. I had other issues but I felt that the load settled down a bit.

I call bullshit on the bullet dont lay flat until past 300 yards.
I've also tuned many a loads at 100 that hold 2"@ 500 out of my rifle.
If you only have 300yards as I do to hang paper. Then tune there at 300.
No need to make it more difficult on yourself.

That’s what I was thinking BC’z. I chuckle every time I read about bullets laying down. My thought is that if the bullet is key holing or unstable at 100, it ain’t going to turn into a laser at 600 or a 1000.
