We were shooting IBS 1000 yard Benchrest targets which are 42 X 42 inches. Some of the 6mm's were even grouping on the guys target next to them.
We all just shook our heads and laughed.

There's a blue moon and a total lunar eclipse scheduled for the 31st this month. Might be a good day.

I usually shoot FClass. I built the rifle as I love shooting the dashers and all of the chat with the ease to form BRA case and supreme accuracy while forming sold me! and its amazing the groups these things will shoot using a modest 2750 fps fire forming load. Very fun case all the way around...! I built for a mid-Range rifle to shoot our areas 300 and 600 yard matches. But I will carry it with me for a 1000 yard match, just in case the east wind shows up...
I'm fire forming my 6BRA at the moment and my very 1st shot was 2751fps with 30gr of 2208/varget and 105gr hybrids and since that time it has speed up to 2820fps and have a total of 120 rounds on it now
i've had some great groups at 500m with FF, ive had a few that have had 4 rounds in 1.1 inches with the 5th one not playing the game in the wind and mirage conditions if had and ended up with 2 inch groups ..pic attached is my one from weekend , 1st shot went left from wind so i held over and the next 4 went 1.1 inch

I fire-formed with 29.2 grains of Varget with 105 VLD. most of my FF was right around 2750 range between the barrel settling in... a few jumped up to 2780 or so. but all still shot very well.

Other than the 150 FPS, why is this better than a plain ol 6BR?
150 fps is significant with a 105 gr. bullet...especially if the AI retains the same accuracy level.

Other than the drift, is there some other reason? Is 6BR to slow for 1000 yard shooting? I am am honestly asking, because I don't know. Can the 6BR not compete at 1000? I know it pretty much dominates at 600.
If you can fire the same bullet 150fps faster and still retain the same level of accuracy, then I would say why wouldn't you?
What freebore you using in the 6 Bra for 105sCould be waiting a long time for that to happen @ 1K
