I am having a going interest in 6mmBR

Ok 6mm. I thought I was seeing some other BR ammo with different cal. bullets. Like I said I know nothing about this type ammo. Sorry for the dumb questions.

No such thing as a dumb question if its honest. Go with 6 mmbr.

If you go with 6 mm BR the question is at what distance do
you want to shoot. Greater than 300 yds (generally), 100-107 or 8 gr bullets and an 8 twist barrel. There are bullets all the way up to 115 gr. these take very particular twist rates. Under 300 yds. 65 to ~ 80 gr bullets.

Check twist rate to stabilize desired bullet, by manufacturer not bullet weight. Some bullets of the same approximate weight take different twists. The above is generally true. There are exceptions.

Our gun range longest range is 200 yds, But I can go into the hills and shoot 3,4,500 yard . Most of my time has been at the local 200 yd range. Because its close.
I have a lot of choices.

What weight and kind of 6mm bullets do you have? A 6BR can be set up for most anything 6mm, but you need to choose a suitable freebore and twist.

Out to 200y and occasionally 500y in a non competition setting, you can probably get away with most any 6mm bullet.

The "stock" cartridge is a 6mm. People have necked it up (and down) to just about any caliber. The most popular after the 6mm seems to be the .30BR, which is crazy accurate at short range (typically used with very slow twists and light bullets).

I SURE LIKE MY LITTLE 6BR I HAVE 2 SO ITS JUST HARD TO BEAT THEM AT THERE GAME FOR WHAT THEY ARE

You'll have to wrestle with what 6BR twist you want. My Krieger 1-14 shoots bug holes @ 100 and does fine all the way to 1/4 mile. I most often shoot the 60 Sierra FB or about the heaviest for twist 70 Sierra HPBT match. It's a very efficient and inherently accurate round. I've got plenty of long range big boomers. Sometimes it's nice to just throttle back and enjoy. :)

I have a 6mmBR Norma with 1:8 twist and the appropriate Free Bore and it shoots 90-107 grainers well out to 1,000 yards. For 100/200 I have a 1:13.5 Twist and shoot 65 grainers. Not quite as good as my 6PPC, but does a nice job. 300 yards it is the 30BR with 95 grainers.

Will this be shot as a repeater? There's a little that goes with running a 6br and variants in a repeater.

I second Don's question here. A match rifle, 6BR. A tactical type repeater, I would look at the 6 Creedmoor. If it is for match purposes, perhaps you may want to extend yourself a little further with the 6-47 Lapua. Mine runs superb.
