Hello from new member

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to say hello to all. I am mostly a Varminter, so I usually frequent sites like Saubier.com and Predatormasters.com. I have become interested in building a 6mm BR for a Coyote rifle, so I knew this was the place for the best knowledge. I'm looking forward to learning a lot about the 6mm calibers, so I hope you will bear with the new guy questions. My idea is to build a 6mmBR in a compact rifle with a 18" barrel and suppressor for use from 0-300 yds. My first thought was why not just use a .243, but I think the 6mmBR will be just the ticket. Any thoughts? Thanks

6BR is incredibly accurate, but can be tough to get to feed through magazines. If oyu do not plan on using it as a single shot, make sure to get quality lower metal for a repeater.

This site is awesome and can/will provide a lot of info on your built. Just get in and READ READ READ!!!!

Welcome to the site ! If you read and search for info. on this site AND ask questions - you're correct in that there are a lot of individuals who KNOW . Again welcome.

Welcome, you came to the right place, there are many world class shooters in here, unfortunately I'm not one of them.

Let me welcome you to this site as well. For the most part, we are a friendly bunch and love to sheare our opinions.

You won't go wrong with a 6BR. Most all of the 600yd bench rest records are with a BR or one of it's wildcats. My suggestion would be to use an 8 twist barrel so you can take advantage of all the .244 bullet weights, and rest assured, an 8 twist will shoot light bullets ( 62, 65, 68, 69 etc) with good accuracy.

Good to have you on the site, and keep us informed as you decide on the particulars of your 6BR.

I have been thinking 6SLR, Really just a improved .243 some call it the .243 super!

Welcome to one of the best sites on the web. I have 3 6BR Rifles in sporter weight and have used two of them for Coyote Hunting all over the country and in Alberta. I had my reamer made with zero free bore so I could shoot the lighter weight bullets. I have used and like the 55 Gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip, the Hornady 58 Gr. V-Max and the Berger 65 Gr.HPBT. All work great on Coyotes but I lean toward the 55 Gr. Nosler BT at around 3600 fps....Seated between .010 and .015 off the lands, they shoot one ragged hole groups and are deadly on Coyotes. As to feeding, mine are either a Rem. 700, or a Model 7 and they all feed perfectly. Get a Mike Bryant follower, spring and Magazine box and you will be well on your way to feeding without problems. Great choice of cartridge for Coyotes ....Enjoy and again, welcome to the forum...George

If you want a suppressor, apply now.You might get it in 3 or 4 years. They are great, they improve accuracy as well as diminish sound.
