Watching the weather forecast it certainly does not look promising for most of the state.

I‘m from central Florida so we will miss the really bad stuff. I currently only shoot 100-200 yards. I’m thinking I may need some help with the wind calls today. LOL

Stay safe! Storm surge could be a doozy! Lots of tornados around the eye on this one.

I'm on the east coast of Florida. Lots of rain (pool is full .. full, ...the overflow drain is keeping up so far), hot and humid, but that's about it.
We are forecast to have winds in the 60mph range this afternoon.

by minute and trying to not bite my nails.

High tide in my area is about 2:30pm, storm surge is still a real threat, wind is supposed to kick up as the hurricane moves NNE, 9' of storm surge prdicted from Bonita Beach to Sarasota area, I'm praying that's not the case

The blue dot is my house. Ian is SSW and moving NNE. Probably could turn the lawn sprinker system off. Gotta' make lunch before the power goes off. Can't use the generators in pouring rain.

I only have one tree, a big ass filthy palm which will probably fall on my garage and crush my car.

But I never need to shovel snow...

For someone such as myself that has spent lots of time collecting shells on Sanibel over the years, this is heartbreaking. I have long feared a direct hit from a strong storm on the Sanibel/Captiva/Ft. Myers area. They somewhat dodged the bullet with Irma in 2017, but Ian didn't miss.

My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone in the affected areas of SW and Central FL. Stay safe, try to keep your spirits up, and always remember that "stuff" can usually be replaced, lives cannot.

I went east. When I get back and assess damages I will let everyone know if it will affect the work. I may not have service for a while when I get back. Between this and many other bumps in the road it feels like an omen. The only good thing is that my parents were not in shape to prepare the property and get out and we got them out so maybe that was the point of this entire mess.
